The third annual Concours on the Avenue will once again kick off the official proceedings of the Monterey Motoring Week. The relatively new event is held on Ocean Avenue in the beautiful city of Carmel. Many of the shops on the town's main street also participate by dressing up their windows. The Concours on the Avenue distinguishes itself by opening relatively modern and common cars and also by the fact that access is free instead of hugely expensive like most other events. Much of the proceeds will nevertheless be donated to the Carmel Foundation.

During the previous two editions cars of this caliber were entered: Porsche 356 Speedster, Chevrolet Camaro SS, Jaguar D-Type and Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport.
